CRISPR Cell Engineering
The recent development of CRISPR systems for genome engineering and endogenous control of gene expression has opened the door for the development of powerful tools to regulate and engineer cell function. Our lab has specific interests in regulating the response of native intervertebral disc cells to inflammation to halt the progression of degenerative disc disease. Additionally, we have active projects in regulating stem cell differentiation via CRISPR systems. We believe these tools provide a novel system to regulate cell function and help treat patients suffering from back pain. We are actively working to develop novel treatment strategies for back pain utilizing CRISPR systems.
